I would tend to agree....baseball fits radio well since there's inherently 
a lot of downtime in small chunks that give the announcers time to recall 
stats, make observations, and tell an amusing ancedote or two.

Unfortunately, it's a dreadful fit for TV, where people need near-constant 
stimulation (basketball) or frequent bursts of overload stimulation 
(football) if they're gonna stay awake for three hours as the game goes 
on.   Plus baseball doesn't have an inherently good system of breaks to fit 
in commercials.   Sure there's the changing between the top and bottom of 
each inning, but those breaks can often be long in coming - no good for 
advertisers.
