I was there at that time, on the 11th floor as I recall;  and they didn't
just take away the cups...they took away the H20 entirely.
(Maybe where you were, they retained water  yuk yuk)

So much for commitment.  Why do large institutions
always pick on small things to eliminate when money 
gets tight?  I remember when Wang Labs went though 
their first big financial crisis.  Maintenance cut
their budget by eliminating paper cups at the water
coolers.
