UPS vs. NStar

Not that many UPS's can last more than 30 minutes of power outage, unless 
you're talking serious $$$.   Lately every power outage I've been through 
in the past year (about a dozen) has lasted at least 45 minutes, usually 
more like 1-2 hours.

The bottom line is that a UPS is not for operation during an outage.  The 
UPS gives you the time to save your work and shut down normally.  If you 
want power during an outage, you need to invest in a combo UPS/Generator 
system and those really only come in "for the building" scale.
