Sutro Tower has, for the longest, been a bone of contention between
residents of the hill and the company that operates the tower, especially
since the operators want to -- or are in the process -- of adding to the
tower in order to put DTV on it.

When I was in San Francisco, driving up one of the roads leading up to the
tower, I noticed that a lot of the houses in that neighborhood had signs
stuck to the windows with a picture of Sutro Tower with a red line through
it (like the no-smoking sign we've all come to know and love).
