just curious as to when or if the freestanding stick that holds the 102.9 
WBLM mitter as well as that of WGME-TV (13) in Raymond, Maine surrendered its 
title as the largest freestanding structure in Maine.
    there was much ado about its size when built, and even Stephen King used 
it analogously in at least one of his stories...  ("...as big as the WGAN 
tower.")
   i've seen photos of the itty-bitty vehicles (IVP's...?)on the ground taken 
from the radio platform, which is still shy of the top tier which hosts the 
TV array.  (of course, the photos were taken by individuals who had to sign 
insurance waivers stating they'd never, ever climb up that particular tower 
in order to keep their policy in force. ;-)  )
    i'm not sure of the actual height, but if i remember correctly, it's well 
over a thousand feet, extremely straight up in the air.
