        Then I must have this crossed up with the old rule that required
written authorization to say an additional city. Stations that got that
authorization did not have to say the second city, it only said they "may."
But you couldn't say the second city without the approval. And the real COL
had to come first.
        Here's a legal ID trivia item for you: When the rule was changed in
the early '70s so IDs only had to be made once an hour instead of twice,
WCCO kept doing its half-past station break as always, going into the news,
basically the same as on the hour. But in the interest of equal time, it
gave the ID at half-past as St. Paul-Minneapolis. Maybe still does, for all
I know.
