Re: Best Jingle Sings (was: WROR)
The Spirit Of New England was a favorite for me, too. I grew up on the WNEW
and WINS bits (even though the latter died an infamous last breath on the
ill-fated Satellite News Channel). Those, the fantastic "Proud to Live In
The Great Northeast" for WGY (I cannot remember the name of the package
that was in, even though I know it was used elsewhere by JAM clients), and
the "I'd Rather Be..." from WROR resonate still... and I admit them I
prefer them even to the classic WABC jingles, even if my introduction to
pop music was indeed Harry Harrison, Dan Ingram and Cousin Brucie.
While I know it's done by some stations, why stations don't more
consistently use these packages when they are so resonant in the memories
of their target audience is beyond me. It's just so obvious... and not
really very expensive, either. :)
