And exceptionally stupid...both the users and the providers.  It costs 
Comcast virtually nothing to let everyone stay on the attbi.com domain (the 
only real difference is the $70 for the domain registry)...and it's costing 
their users millions in lost time and actual funds.   All just so they can 
further dominate their customers in their executives' minds.

Then again, I've long since felt that if you're going to run a business, 
and you're going to have a public email address, then you ought to get off 
your butt and have a real domain name and use it in your email.  It costs 
less than $200 a year...in some cases less than $100...and is so damn easy 
you've got no excuse.   Even if it's just an auto-forwarding address to 
your (ick) aol.com address :-) at least have the public address be 
something that doesn't change every time your provider changes.
