Maybe not such a  stooooopid move.  Apparently there was a rally to protest 
this, and maybe 20 people showed up, many of which were members of  bands 
who'd appeared on the show.  One does not program a station in the #1 
market by the seat of the pants...I'm sure their research showed this 
program to be a negative.

Do you really think they should keep a show because someone from Mass. who 
gets to NYC a couple times a year is a fan?
