WCBS-FM's "Doo Wop Shop" To End 27 Year Run

   Radio & Records reports that WCBS-FM (101.1 New York) will be dropping
the Sunday night "Doo-Wop Shop" show after 27 years on the station. The
final show will air on August 25. It's unknown if the show's host, Don K.
Reed will remain with WCBS-FM after the final show.

   Has WCBS-FM finally weeded out most pre-Beatles era titles from the
rotation, a la WODS? Since I obviously can't get the station up here, if
anyone down that way has heard them lately and can fill us in on what's
going on there. I last heard them when I went down for the day one Saturday
in May, they were still playing some pre-Beatles tunes then.
