Re: Long Top-of-the-Hour Station ID strings

Since we got started talking on the subject of Long IDs, at my old
station KMXT Kodiak, Alaska our station/translator ID contained our call
sign, plus our six translators scattered around the villages of Kodiak
Island and Alaska Peninsula. The best time I could get it recorded for
the carts and Digilink was 18 seconds!

Lots of other Alaska Public stations had lengthy station/translator IDs;
KSKA Anchorage 2 repeaters and 9 translators; KCAW Sitka had 8
translators; while KRBD Ketchikan had 7 translators to squeeze into
their IDs.

I think the longest I station/translator ID I've ever heard was while
travelling down I-5 from Portland Oregon to Sacramento a few years back.
Jefferson Public Radio, I believe they were run by KSOR-FM had a
station/translator ID that must have had 20 stations lasting over a
minute!

Locally, Maine Public Radio has quite a mouthful with its' 7 stations
from Portland to Fort Kent. I also heard West Virgina Public Radio once,
and they have at least 7 or 8 staions/repeaters around the state.

I'm sure there are others...
