WTIC (AM) silent period this evening (Sun, 8/11)

   FYI, for the DX geeks around here: WTIC (AM) has been announcing today
that from 9 p.m. EDT today, Sun. 8/11, until approximately midnight EDT it
will be off the air for needed transmitter work.

   Anyone who knows the various national and Canadian DXers' lists and
posting sites, please pass this along.

   I'm wondering whether it's actually transmitter work, or antenna system
work. Wouldn't they stay on with whatever auxiliary or backup or alternate
main transmitter they have if they were just working on the main
transmitter?
