Marx v. Presley

Marx was a genius and deserves his due, but when you
look back on impact on our society, Elvis Presley is
much more important.  Hundreds of years from now,
historians will point to Elvis as a key figure in
changing American music and culture.  From attitudes
about sex to increasing the impact of African
Americans on American music (by using their style
& techniques in popular music), Elvis was in the
forefront.  I don't see the Marx Brothers having that
kind of lasting impact on American life.

Of course, most of the hype about Elvis' death will
not focus on such things, but he truly is a historic
figure beyond entertainment.
