RE: Boston spring 2002 Arbitrends-- two questions

Oh...and Fun Follow ups...

In my home market of Manchester NH....

WZID (95.7 Manchester) is DOWN to 18.0, now with less than a 10 point lead
in the market for the first time in a while (WGIR-FM 101.1 Manchester second
at 8.6)

WJMN (94.5 Boston MA) reigns as the #1 out-of market station (4th overall)
with a 4.3

WFEA (1370 Manchester)MOYL-type format actually finished ahead of WGIR
talk(610 Manchester) 3.6 to 2.9

WOKQ (97.5 Dover) seems to have "taken back" most of the Country listeners
it appeared to have lost to WKLB-FM (99.5 Lowell-Boston) last fall. WOKQ is
up 1.9 (5.7 to 7.6), and WKLB-FM is down 2.1 (4.3 to 2.2) The newest Country
station, WOTX ("outlaw" 102.3 Concord) seems to have picked up the rest of
'KLB's loss, up 0.3 from 1.1 to 1.4. Appears that the total Country audience
is flat, simply shifting loyalties.

WTPL (107.7 Hillsboro) and temporary simulcast WKXL (1450 Concord) made
major gains from not appearing in either 2001 survey to gain a 0.8 in this
survey. My guess is most of that credit belongs to the addition of Howie
Carr to their talk lineup in the last 6 months. But that hasn't hurt WRKO
(680 Boston), whose Burlington MA TX site makes it come in like a local in
most of the Manchester ADI anyway, they're up over a point, from 1.8 in the
Fall to 2.9 now, tying local talker WGIR.

And religious WDER (1320 Derry) posted a best yet 0.7 tying WBOS (92.9
Brookline-Boston)whose short-spaced signal is unlistenable in at least half
the market, and WHEB (100.3 Portsmouth), and ahead of WHOM (94.9 Mt
Washington-Portland ME), WMJX (106.7 Boston) and WNNH (99.1
Henniker-Concord) who all posted 0.4. Soft-Rock on the outs?

Rock and Modern Rock saw big gains as WGIR-FM and WBCN (104.1 Boston) gained
1.5 points each in their spring ratings ('GIR-FM from 7.1 to 8.6, 'BCN from
2.1 to 3.6)
