Re: No Fox affilate for Bangor after all
Could this be the result of a loophole (or not)?
If I remember correctly, the so-called "Syndex" (for SYNDICATION exclusivity)
rule/law enacted to protect the rights (i.e. the paid for right to carry in a
specific market) of local program syndicators against the "Superstations" in
the days of the "Big 3".
If this is so, how do the "SYNDEX" rules affect former independents who are now
parts of "new" networks, such as Fox, WB, and UPN, and is their programming
protected under "SYNDEX" or "must carry" with regard to programming duplication?
Do the rules even apply to network programming?
