Re: Don & Mike
Right now, Infinity is trying to get clearances in the major markets for
Don and Mike. I don't think they care too much about a handful of
stations in Northern New England. If these stations run D&M live or on
tape delay it really doesn't matter. Middays have always been a tough
daypart for hot talk stations to fill. Putting D&M on in middays makes
the show more attractive to hot talkers, which often run local talent in
PM drive. By moving D&M to middays, Infinity has created an "extreme
talk network" consisting of Stern 6-11, Don & Mike 11-3, Opie and Anthony
3-7, Ron & Fez 7-10 and Lovelines late at night. Add Leykis in there
somewhere on tape delay and you've pretty much have 24 hours of
programming. Look for Infinity to try to roll out this lineup in the
major markets first, then eventually to the smaller markets.
