RE: 89.3 pirate goes ID-crazy
I'm not certain that they can get in trouble (if they were a legit station)
for airing other call signs/IDs. As long as they gave their own Station ID.
Other stations will certainly be highly interested to learn about their
stations (jingles, maybe?) promos, etc being heard over other outlets. As
for the FCC, I'd think the context of how the other calls were given might
weigh in to the equation on wether they do something about it.
Recently, I signed WGSR 1570 off the air (taken it dark). During the "last
show/DX Test" I used the station's earlier call sign's legal ID jingle
between songs. I followed it up with a quick present day legal ID "WYHI
Fernandina Beach from years past is now WGSR Fernandina Beach..." and also
forewarned listeners they would hear some of the old call signs throughout
the program.
The former ownership was in the radio audience via DX, and got a big thrill
out of it.

There is such a station in Virginina on 1570, I'm told.
