"The Lost 45s" returns to Boston radio
What Once Was Lost, Is Now Found (Again!)
“The Lost 45s” with Barry Scott returns to the Boston airwaves on Memorial Day Weekend: Sunday, May 27th from 7 to 10PM on 105.7, WROR!
This will be the sixth Boston area radio station to air the program, which features Top 40 hits from the 60s and 70s not heard on the air anymore. (For those of you trying to count…here’s the rundown: WERS, WZLX, WBOS, WBMX, WEGQ and now 105.7, WROR!) “The Lost 45s” was #1 25-54 on all of the commercial stations it has aired, including its final book on WEGQ in April of 1999—when that station changed format. This September marks the 20th anniversary of the very first show at Emerson College in Boston.
Since then, Barry Scott has worked as a consultant for various internet radio companies and “The Lost 45s” has aired weekly on his web site www.lost45.com. There is a show running on the site right now, which had over 200,000 hits last month.
“The Lost 45s” features Top 40 records; artist interviews; TV, Movie and News clips; vintage TV ads and TV show themes. The show has spawned a best-selling book, now in its 5th printing (“We Had Joy, We Had Fun”) as well as a CD series now available on Varese Sarabande Records internationally.
“The Lost 45s” with Barry Scott airs its first new local broadcast on Memorial Day Weekend: Sunday night, May 27th from 7 to 10pm on 105.7 WROR!
