A New England Marconi Award Winner

talk about the little engine that could...  according to the official NAB 
press release,  the 2000 Marconi award winners include WBQQ, Kennebunk, ME 
Classical Station of the Year.   the banquet and ceremony was held last night 
in San Francisco.
   the station for which I proudly work, WROR, had been nominated for the 
Oldies Station category, but it seems the Detroit offering (WOMC) won out.   
WOMC also picked up the Major Market Station award.
(hmmmm, and the awards show host, Dick Purtan, does mornings at WOMC and the 
station gets TWO awards... hey, wait a minute!  (i'm kidding.))
