This scenario doesn't make much sense.  WFNX & WBCN are not co-owned.  Why
would CBS blow up a successful station just because a competitor is
simulcasting on a bunch of Class A rimshotters?  When the end came at WNEW,
the PA system at K-Mart probably had more listeners at any given time--WBCN
successfully evolved from being the "Woodstock station" to a contemporary
rock station, something WNEW was never able to pull off.  Name even one
"extreme talk" station that isn't in the ratings basement.
