Couldn't agree more that news stories are often graphic - although I
never really noticed such until I realized how my kids were reacting
when they listened. "Too much information" is a line that goes
through my mind when it comes to my kids. I've found that CDs and
tapes work best. TV is almost easier to police since its
predominantly line of sight versus the broader earshot of radio.
SOmetimes when on the air and a topic comes up and I imagine that my
kids could be listening at home or in the car to school, it focuses
me. I've often wondered what would happen if broadcasters considered
that possibility more often?
