Re: NERW 1/7 (WPTR/WDCD)

No, CHIN is directionalized northward, to protect KXEL, ZNS, and WPTR. Last
night, for the first time since WPTR signed on in the late 40s, I picked up
KXEL, not strong, but clear as a bell. Imagine, it's been over 50 years
since I last heard KXEL! (Back then, my QTH was in the Bronx.) KXEL comes in
just as well on my Super Radio III as it did on the big Stromberg-Carlson
console (the one with the 4-lb magnet in the phono pickup) in my parents'
living room.

Sat. evening DX check from the coast of Maine

As of 11:30 Sat. night Jan. 8 still no sign of WPTR or WDCD on 1540.
But "Toronto Fiesta" on CHIN coming in quite well on 1540. (Aren't
they directional westward to protect WPTR/WDCD?)
