Cape & Islands public radio update

They're not on the air yet, but WCAI (90.1 Woods Hole) and WNAN (91.1
Nantucket) have a web site:
<http://www.cainan.org>
WNAN is still slated for a January debut but WCAI isn't expected to make
it on the air until spring--you can read all about efforts to make the
antenna acceptable to West Tisbury at the web site (yes, the antenna for
the Woods Hole station is to be on Martha's Vineyard). Also check out
the photos of the Woods Hole studios, staff appointments, program
schedules, and a coverage map.

The stations are run by WGBH but the programming looks more like that of
WBUR. There's a little music on the weekends but most of the schedule
is NPR/PRI news/talk. If WCAI's coverage is as depicted, it will be
most welcome in the Fall River/New Bedford area where WBUR-FM is a tough
catch thanks to the 91.1 station at UMass-Dartmouth and WRNI's signal
leaves something to be desired, especially at night.
