One interesting tidbit about the TV version of "The Lone Ranger" was
that the final season (1956/57) had been filmed in color (39 shows in
all that year), but were not broadcast in color at the time because ABC
could only transmit network programming in black-and-white (In fact, for
a time in the late 1950's while it was based in Phladelphia, "American
Bandstand" was seen locally in color, but only in black-and-white on the
network).

The 39 color episodes were not shown in color until 1960/61, when they
weren rerun on NBC. I think today, they're the only 39 "Lone Ranger" TV
episodes available in rerun syndication.
