And look at who's spending the money. As a boomer myself, I find that I
buy clothes only when I need them, and look for something that will last as
opposed to what's in fashion this week. If I buy a CD, it's something I
figure I'll enjoy for years to come, not this week's disposable hip-hop
artist or boy band.
Contrasting this to my girlfriend's daughters (16 & 19) who spend far more
money on items that they will be tired of in a few months (and thusly will
be replaced), or name brand everything..supermarket shampoo just doesn't
cut it with this age group. If you were an advertiser, which of us would
you target?
