Unfortunately, the Jammin' Oldies format, much like
the recent "All 70's" format...seems to have about a
12 to 14-month "shelf live". The same formula seems
to be used: pick the top 200 to 300 tunes of the
Motown era....and run them over and over and over
and over and over. KHOT-FM/Phoenix area has
already dropped the format for Spanish...but that
was due to a sale, not necessarily ratings.
Nobody's implying a station needs to play 2,000 tunes,
that would be stupid......but why not 500-750 carefully
selected and rotated titles?
