Radio WX

I'm curious as to what happened to the New England Weather Service. It was
started by the Chase family when they owned WTIC-AM & FM in Hartford. It
was supposed to be an alternative to Accuweather with more of a regional
focus. It's forecasts were on WTIC-AM and WTIC-TV (Fox 61.) The service
was looking to syndicate to other New England stations. I was approached by
them when I was PD at WLIS-Old Saybrook, but chose to stay with Connecticut
Radio Networks "Weathercenter" with Bob Harris. Did Infinity/CBS/whatever
buy this service when it bought ARS (former owners of WTIC AM & FM?) Do
they still even exist? If they do, BZ could pick up the service to keep it
in house, much like they did when they dumped Metro Traffic for co-owned
Shadow.
