Re: Fox TV/Radio Simulcasts (Was: Re: Bob Katzen, WMRE)



Regarding the prohibition of cross-ownership (a
radio or TV station and a newspaper):

I remember that Senator Ted Kennedy opposed the
granting of a waiver that would allow Murdoch to own
both Ch. 25 and the Boston Herald... and Jerry
Williams, then at WRKO, alleged that Kennedy was
doing it because the Herald hadn't been kind to the
Kennedy family, for years on end. Sen. Kennedy called
in to Jerry's show on a snowy day, and Jerry tried
to pin the Senator down on that.
