satellite failure

It was shades of last fall this morning when General Electric's G3
satellite went out of control, killing AP's satellite distributed
services. All of New Hampshire's AP radio subscribers were directed to
a web site to get news feeds. Moody Bible Institute's feed was also
affected. This all began around 3:45AM EST and AP resumed service at
about 8:45AM. They notified subscribers, in the meantime, that they
were preparing to switch to a backup satellite in case GE engineers were
unable to regain control of G3.

This reminded me of the satellite failure which had such immense impact
on NPR and other broadcast services.
