Hearst-Argyle needs to slash talent pay to be more in line with say,
Huntington, WV. That way, when the quality dips to the level of
Huntington, we can say that we got what we paid for. But WCVB _is_ a
quality station because it makes good hiring decisions, pays well and
retains good people. Oh, and people watching them a lot is because of
those facts.
