Re: Fewer people watching network television

Long commercial breaks probably turn off many listeners, and it's
annoying when stations tend to
schedule their spots all at the same time. OK, so
Howie Carr's going into a six-minute break (or at least
it seems that way). WEEI? Running ads. So's WBZ, and
most of the music stations...Yikes.
It's getting to the point that when you hear a DJ
come on (on music stations), it means "long commercial
break ahead"...

Ever wonder why books on tape are getting so popular?
Or music tapes? Just picture all those people in their
cars, stuck in traffic, with all sorts of commercial stations running
spot after spot. Yes, it pays for
the station's staff and expenses. But is it turning
off listeners in the long run?
