But it's yet to be proven whether ann announcer can "talk up" a music piece
without hearing the intro.  How can one pace one's talk-up without music
behind it?

We may as well go back to automation, which on the whole was a failure,
except for stations like easy-listening ones (Schulke, for example), which
was not personaloity-driven at all, and which format never required talkups.
