Re: Other past Albany pirates?

Hi--if you're the "Gavin" I'm thinking of, I believe
we have a mutual friend in Tim Davisson (and you taped
some Dr. Demento for me, through him--thanks!)

I was at Albany Anthrocon this past July 4th weekend
at the Omni, right near the NY Capitol Building. I
saw signs for "WYIF 88.7 FM" posted in the hotel,
and taped 45 minutes of it (may still have it). It
basically was a non-stop "techno-music" jukebox,
with no real DJs and just a mention of the calls
once or twice.
When I left the Con on the Sunday afternoon of that
weekend, I could still hear it within a couple blocks
of the Omni. Then I lost it,and a few miles later
(on I-787) I picked up the regularly licensed
station on 88.7 (forget the calls...classical music)

The convention will relocate to Valley Forge,PA
for next July 4th weekend, and we'll have to see
if WYIF shows up there. In "furry fandom", "yiff"
is either a sound a fox makes, or a term for sex...
