Where an echo usually is most useful is when
you're listening to whatever radio station
on some pocket transistor radio
with a 2-1/2 inch speaker. It keeps it
from sounding "tinny," I've noticed.

For some reason, I've always thought that
adding re-verb to an airchain gave the 
station some ethereal sort of character --
like it was some voice from the great
beyond...beyond....beyond...d..d...d...
