Salem not to buy WBPS after all

The FCC actions for last Thursday or Friday indicated that the application
to transfer the license of WBPS from WBIV License Corp to New England
Continental Media (a subsidiary of Salem Communications Inc) had been
dismissed at the request of WBIV's attorney.

I'd like to think that the reason was that Salem backed out after somebody
there read my posts here about the impracticality of Salem's proposal to
move WBPS to the WEZE site in Medford. In fact, I have no knowledge of the
reason, but I'd like to think I had a hand in keeping this technical
disaster from happening. I'll merely hint at the sick jokes tying Salem's
idea for moving WBPS to Salem managment's position on reproductive rights.
Nixing the sale and move is consistent with that position.
