Thank you, Ed Brouder, for alterting me to the Sunday 5:06am
broadcast of "Perspective" on WGIR. Last time I had checked, that
timeslot featured the rebroadcast of "The Movie Show," a casualty of the
Capstar cuts (or should I say deCAPitations: heads did roll!). I note
that "The Movie Show"'s Saturday morning slot now features a different
local show, "The Real Estate and Financial Planning Show." Such
imaginative program titles!
"Perspective" isn't as thoroughly engaging as it used to be back
before Bob Walker retired--I can do without the cute musical cut-ins on
some of the features and the recap of the week's big story in the first
half--but as long as the Hugh Downs essay is a fixture and there are
features like John Stossel doing his devil's advocate thing (as he did
on this past weekend's show), I'll keep listening.
