If anything, this deal could help Chancellor get their hands on the CBS/ARS
stations. It has been mentioned before that Mel Karmazin and Scott Ginsburg
could'nt stand eachother and Mel wouln't do business with Chancellor because
of this. The rumors I've heard suggest Randy Michaels, CEO of Jacor, would
run the show for the merged company. The new corporate structure may meet
Mel's approval for getting the deal done in Boston, and since he is under the
gun from the DOJ to dump the 4 stations, all this could come down fairly soon.
This would give Chancellor/Jacor four FM's and two high billing AM's, which
would make them a major player in the market, on par with CBS/ARS.
