  He was fired in the sense that Haywood Sullivan told WPLM NOT to offer
him a contract, and since the Red Sox had veto power on announcers. He did
not want to leave, and in fact Ken Coleman was going to give him a 4th
inning to work, instead of the 6-3 arrangement.
