Although folkies profess to _hate_ country music, a number of artists cross
over fairly freely between the two genres. I don't know if the Mad Ave crowd
has got the message about the _real_ demos of the folk audience--how upscale
they are. (I'd guess that you could never get this message across to ad
agency jerks who believe that people suddenly become deaf to advertising on
their 55th birthdays.) But I wonder if a hybrid country/folk-acoustic format
could work. I think you'd have to avoid the word "country" and probably also
the word "folk," and use some code phrase like "Today's _real_ American
music." How about WRAM for calls? Anyone got those?
