There is once again a pirate in Brockton killing WUMB. This time on 92.1
instead of 91.7.
The last 91.7 in Brockton was shut down due to causing interference to air
traffic control frequencies for planes flying into and out of Logan. This
seems to be the only sure way they will be shut down.

There are a couple categories of pirates, from what I've observed. There's
the very obvious ones like 87.7, 89.3, and 101.3 that actually have live
hosts, advertisers, promotions, professional looking websites, etc... Then
there's the mostly Haitian ones that seem to just be rebroadcasting feeds of
programming from other pirates in Miami, or from Haiti. The audio on these
is sometimes horrendous, which makes me think there can't be anyone actually
listening. One example of this is 88.7 on the east side of Brockton. Last
night, on the car radio less than a mile away, they were almost
unintelligible because of how over modulated they were, on a selective car
radio. They were obviously destroying the signal of 88.9 WERS, which
normally covers Brockton just fine.
