After more than 30 years under its original owners, WASR AM 1420, is
slated to come under new ownership.
Grant Hatch, owner of Spectrum Photo, has confirmed that a management
agreement is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 1, transferring the operation
of the radio station from Alan and Sharon Severy to him. He said final
ownership would be transferred Feb. 1, 2004.

One of the biggest changes will be updating the music format to adult
contemporary or AC format.

Another major change will be to expand the hours of operation, coming on
the air at 5:30 a.m. and running until midnight. Currently WASR goes off
the air at 6 p.m.
