Re: Saga buys WIDE

My understanding is that they're live-local during AM drive, and during
middays a couple of days a week. I popped in to the station a few months
ago after I had a meeting in the same building and noticed the "WIDE" sign
on the door. The friendly salesperson showed me the two small studios (one
formerly used by WRED) and the cramped office with a couple of desks for
the sales staff. I was surprised to see they still subscribed to the AP
wire---virtually unheard of at small stations now.

Surprising, too, that they carry the Patriots, which I thought would be
market exclusive, and Biddeford obviously is well within the coverage area
of WBLM, the Pats' Portland affiliate.

The WIDE tower is clearly visible from the Maine Turnpike, just north of
exit 4, next to the Biddeford Ice Arena. It throws a listenable signal into
Portland, as well as interior York County.

How much actual local programming do they run and what is their format?
