He also owned the rights to The Lone Ranger & was responsible for
'unmasking' Clayton Moore in 1981, when a big-budget Lone Ranger movie was
being released. (It flopped.) The official line was that they didn't want
the public being confused by having two masked men claiming to be The Lone
Ranger. After the flop he gave Moore permission to wear the mask again.
