Josh Hull used to do Mondays (blues) on WBRS; when he
came to WMWM, one reason was because he found a
commute from Beverly to Salem was easier than one
from Beverly to Waltham (he'd hit heavy traffic...)
Then he wound up doing the 'GBH gig for awhile and I
think he may still do occasional fill-ins for them.
I may ask if he's interested in coming back to
WMWM.

I don't think so; Dave Herwaldt, who had done "Out of
the Blues", left (and was considered for the WGBH
blues host job but didn't get it); and the 12-2 pm
slot on Saturdays became a country show, "Debbie Does
Dallas". Someone told me they'd heard WMBR was going
to have a show in that slot called "Jake's Juke
Joint" and I thought it would be a blues show from
the title but it turned out it was "Debbie...", just
with a different show name. They do have "Backwoods"
with John Funke, 10 to noon on Saturdays, which blends
rockabilly, rock 'n' roll, country, blues, country
swing, and other roots music.
