I always thought JT's pre-1975 stuff all sounded alike too. The appeal of
the Dixie Chicks escapes me completely (though to be honest, I have a very
low threshold of pain when it comes to country music anyway and yodeling
exceeds that limit immediately if not sooner).
I tend to avoid awards shows like the Grammys anyway. The awards seem to
be more political than merit based, and winners seem to feel the need to
use their acceptance speeches as a (often obscenity laden) soapbox for
their political views/causes.
