There's a good reason for this. People in the media are mostly underpaid
and treated like dirt. I used to be Mr. Conservative/Republican when I
was in school and living at home. Why would you be supportive of a
political philosophy that does not have your best interests at heart?

When I stepped out into the real world and got my first job at a rat-shit
suburban newspaper making 125$ a week with no overtime while I watched how
the ownership used all sorts of legal games to keep itself from paying
workers at least a minimum wage (as per FLSA) you can bet your sweet
brains I shifted slowly towards the left.

And that's where I am now. Except I'm much more cynical. Now I'm more of
a socialist realist.

I agree with most of the socialist platform, but I think people
(especially those in charge) are essentialy dishonest and greedy and that
is why Socialism is a way of government that will never work in the real
world. The Soviet Union, Cuba and P.R. China are prime examples of this.

I've long since left that newspaper. The entire group is now a
shamble (its stock was tumbling for over 3 or 4 years), has pretty much
broken up and is a shell of what it once was. They got what was coming
to them.

Good.
