I remember that quad was pushed big time by Harry Maynard, who hosted 
the weekly show "Men of Hi-Fi" on WNYC-FM in New York during the 
70's.  I believe that he also was the publisher of the short-lived 
"FM Guide".  I met Mr. Maynard one time at a meeting of the NY Audio 
Society, it was interesting but I only made it to one meeting.
