Too bad for the Democrats though ... 

But you know, they helped pass the Telecom Bill in 1996 which created consolidation and ended a whole slew of independent broadcasters. Of course, they could always rescind the bill but ... 

As well, if Daschle wants to fix this problem, the Democrats could always bring back the Fairness Doctrine.

Of course, neither of these things would happen because the Democrats don't have any regulatory backbone.
