WCSH did a more complete forecast in the first segment
so I could have turned it off and gone to bed, while
WMTW put off a full forecast until later in the show.

WCSH gave me content that I couldn't get anywhere
else. WMTW quickly switched to taped ABC national
news that I could have seen on the national news 5
hours earlier. It was the same news that had been on
the cable channels all day -- though Chuck makes a
good point that not everyone has cable.

I don't think local TV news should be judged on useful
information. Today, the shows are entertainment with
a few headlines. Last night, WMTW failed by not
talking about what most people wanted to know about.
