New AM 1340 WNZS on air
Saw on another board that WNZS 1340 Veazie (Bangor) came on the air last
weekend with CNN Headlne news.
I tried to pick them up down here on Mount Desert Island several times
today, using three separate receivers: My AM/FM Stereo with longwire AM
Antenna (which is surprisingly sensitive on AM, getting most Boston
AMs)
Also on my GE SuperRadio-I which I have been using for DX since 1983,
and my car radio.
I have heard absolutely no trace of WNZS on any of them. All I get is
regular CJLS Yarmouth via solid water path across the Bay of Fundy, and
a very weak remant of a religious station (WMDR Augusta?)
Cooper" You know much more about WNZS if they are on full power yet?
Maybe being new, they are still not on fulltime schedule yet, or at full
power and I just haven't caught them yet.
And CJLS does really blast in here along the shoreline with their 5kw.
